Zachery Michaliska

Architectural Intern

Raised in the western suburbs of Chicago, Zach has always shown a keen interest in experiential design. He sees an architect as a composer of the built world. Like in music, an architect balances the harmonies of materials, they create tensions and releases with scale and proportion, and harness light to make a user feel. Zach first attended the University of Illinois as a Jazz performance major, but his passion for drawing and the visual arts led him to study architecture. After another cold Chicago winter and earning his bachelor’s degree in architecture, Zach decided to join Clayton Korte in the warm state of Texas. In his free time, he loves exploring with analog film, drawing by hand, playing the trumpet, and collecting vinyl records from years past.
