George Wilcox
AIA | Director of Project DeliveryA third-generation builder with construction roots on both sides of his family, George brings an inherently grounded understanding of how buildings come together from concept to craft. As a leader at Clayton Korte with extensive experience in hospitality design, he oversees construction quality across the firm’s portfolio. As Director of Project Delivery, he ensures that every project meets the firm’s standards for technical excellence, code compliance, and consultant coordination. His understanding of design and construction is rooted in a lifetime of making things by hand, and projects like Hotel Saint Cecilia, The Driskill Hotel, Seaholm Power Plant, and Mattie’s at Green Pastures reflect the range and rigor he brings to his role. George is a longtime board member and past Chair of the Austin Building Enclosure Council, bringing building science principles to his daily work and his mentorship of the firm.
George hails from Chattanooga, Tennessee, and attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville before coming to Austin. He joined Clayton Korte in 2007 when there were only seven others at the firm and has been an active participant in the local Austin AIA chapter for many years. His previous tenure as Chair of the Chattanooga Historic Zoning Commission, combined with years as a Construction Director, has given him particular depth in historic adaptive reuse and the demands of large-scale commercial construction. Outside of the office, George spends time with his wife, plays ultimate Frisbee, and backpacks.
