Josephine House
Austin, Texas
Previously a private events space for Jeffrey’s, the renovated Josephine House has become an elegant breakfast, lunch and dinner destination all its own for residents in Clarksville and beyond. The design team worked closely with the owner and interior designer to breathe new life into the quaint 900 square foot restaurant.
New equipment makes the most the compact kitchen. A book-matched marble bar and buffet counter combine with repurposed original shiplap wood walls and a reclaimed shiplap ceiling to result in interiors at once rustic and elegant — perfectly suited for Austin.
Outside, landscaping revamped with board-formed retaining walls, grass seating terraces and native plantings soften the edges of the site. A new courtyard and wood patio allow diners to enjoy meals under a live oak canopy dressed with string lighting. The experience is made richer by a centrally located wood-burning cooking pit.
