C-Boys Heart & Soul
Rising from within the thick masonry walls of the former Trophy’s bar, C-Boy’s Heart and Soul is a dressed-down juke joint housed in a new structural shell, situated on the edge of the bustling South Congress district. Years of damage to the original wood framing required an all-new steel and wood frame update. All of the plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems were subject to upgrades as well. Once the fundamental building elements were in place, the interior was finished out in a collage of vintage and new materials; some salvaged from the original Trophy’s bar and many from the owner’s collection of soul music memorabilia. Custom upholstered doors, vintage light fixtures and glitter acrylic wall coverings are highlights among the many interior finishes.
